Management committee

The Charity is governed by a Management Committee. The Chair, Treasurer and Company Secretary are elected annually at the Annual General Meeting.

All staff and Trustees will go through an enhanced CRB check.

Marjorie Jefferies - Chair

  • 27 years with charitable organisation including chairing monthly meetings, organising events and conferences

  • Presentation skills – public speaking

  • Production Controller for 20 years in an engineering company

  • Budgeting and managing money including fundraising

  • Own children and grandchildren (9-16)

  • Local resident

 Jonathan Satchell

  • IT expert including support maintenance for computer Suite in Centre (Internet security and Step by Step guides)

  • Experience in large commercial organisation – Project Planning – research and costing for project managers

  • Research Skills

  • Safety in working environment

  • 3 year trustee experience

  • Father of teenagers

 Paul Crowley - Treasurer

  • Chartered Accountant and registered Auditor

  • School Governor for Primary and Secondary, experience of Ofsted, Chair Finance Committee

  • Previous trustee of Green Hut (Day Centre for Homeless) and Catherine Waite Educational Trust

  • Member of PCC 11 years and Church Warden 8 years

  • Foster Carer for 8 years for all ages

  • Father of teenagers

Sally Nunan

  • Twist trustee for 6 years including treasurer, secretary, administration

  • Planning and supporting running of inside and outside play activities for 6 – 14s

  • Parent of 10 year old

  • Committee member of newly established Pinetrees Community Centre

  • Local resident – knowledge of community

  • Consultation with Children

Mark Pope

  • Senior Network IT consultant Nationwide 21 years

  • Team and Person Management including HR responsibility

  • Management of Major projects, Prince2 practitioner

  • PC Unix skills including website development

  • Currently running own IT consultancy business

  • Facilitated Young Enterprise in Schools

 Cliff Puffett – Vice Chair

  • Born in Popular Avenue – Pinehurst

  • Attended Pinehurst School

  • Joined the Royal Navy at the age of 16, travelled the world served in Mediterranean , Middle East and Far East

  • Left Royal Navy in mid-60’s worked for Hills for 8 years.

  • Started own business in late 70’s , as a ‘one man band’ however, within 10 years acquired and operated 3 Quarry operation and a Building Merchant Company into a Multi- Million pound operation.

  • Retired and sold all companies in 2003.

  • Now spends time involved in assisting various charities including, Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group, Headway, Open Door

  • Former Chairman of Swindon Town Football Club and Swindon Supermarines.

 Pauline Barnes - Secretary

  • Worked as a nurse for 20 years working within the Maternity Unit and the Prospect Hospice.

  • Then changed career path to Social Work, working within the Youth Justice Team as Court Duty Officer and Supervisor to young people involved with the court system or failing within the mainstream school environment.

  • I then worked as Manager of a Charity which worked with young people who were excluded from mainstream education. This Charity was able to offer education up to GCSE and AQA Awards.

  • The charity offered Full time education. Dealing Sexual Health Issues. Substance Misuse and counselling, and one to one supervision of young people in care.

  • Fully aware of requirements for Ofsted.

  • Trained as a Counsellor with Willows Counselling Service also trained in Child Protection, Substance Misuse. & Sexual Health Issues.

  • Actively involved in writing funding applications for the charity.

  • I am on the Management committee of Swindon Youth Partnership.

  • I have one daughter and one grandson age 10 years.

 Caroline Hunt

  • 24 years Local Authority experience

  • Experience in landscape design, play area design and management and Parks and Green Space management

  • Extensive experience in engaging with children and young people through the Government’s Playbuilder Project

  • Experience in working with community groups and volunteers

  • Mother of 2 young people in their early twenties
